Shanghai Delegation visited the Ministry of Investment, Saudi Arabia (MISA) in Riyadh for business exchange

On November 25, 2025, following up on the "Enterprise Internationalization Supported by UN: Saudi Investment Exchange Meeting" hosted by ITPO Shanghai on May 21, the Director of ITPO Shanghai, Ms. Zhao Xiaolei, led a 14-member delegation of Shanghai entrepreneurs for a business exchange with the Ministry of Investment, Saudi Arabia (MISA) in Riyadh. Mr. Hao LYU, Chief Representative of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lujiazui Administration Bureau Middle East Office, also attended the meeting.

 

The Shanghai delegation was welcomed by Mr. Saleh ALJABER, Assistant Minister of MISA and Head of Special Economic Zones, along with several officials, including Mr. Faisal ALMUDHHI, Supervisor of the Water Environment Sector, Ms. Cindy LIU, China Affairs Manager, and Ms. Reem NAKIYAH, Head of Investor Relations.

 

Mr. ALJABER extended a warm welcome to the delegation and emphasized that under the framework of the national strategy, Saudi Vision 2030, MISA is opening its market globally, inviting innovative technologies, and proactively facilitating industrial matchmaking and investment services, particularly in the areas of innovative technology, sustainable development, and industrial transformation. MISA officials then provided the Shanghai delegation with a detailed overview of the Saudi investment environment, showcased national projects urgently seeking technology solutions, and addressed company inquiries regarding investment policies.

 

Director Zhao Xiaolei introduced the mission and functions of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, expressing a strong desire to collaborate with MISA to expand cooperation space through official exchanges, technology visits, and investment recommendations. This partnership aims to build a more efficient platform for businesses from both sides, effectively promoting investment and technological cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.

 

Representatives from the Shanghai enterprises, including Mr. Phillip Jingwei YU, Chairman and President of United Water Group; Mr. Ning ZHANG, Chairman of BeiKe Yunhong Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.; Ms. Hong LEI, Director and COO of Shanghai UniNano Advanced Material Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Yuebin MING, Vice President of Battery Science and Technology Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Yaping WU, President of Anhui HVAC Association, presented Chinese technology solutions intended for application in Saudi Arabia. The exchange boosted the confidence of the Shanghai delegation enterprises regarding investment in Saudi Arabia. Multiple companies indicated that they plan to initiate investment feasibility studies and conduct technical pilot projects in the near future.
