UNIDO ITPO Shanghai was invited to the 2026 Artifical Intelligence for Health Conference, themed Med-X & Innovation Convergence
On the afternoon of March 26, the 2026 Artifical Intelligence for Health Conference, themed Med-X & Innovation Convergence, was held in the Science and Innovation Zone of the Puxi World Expo Area, Huangpu District. Focusing on cutting-edge topics in the interdisciplinary field of medicine and engineering, the conference aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application, and explore paths for technological innovation and industrial coordinated development in the Era of Smart Health 3.0. The Head of the UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, ZHAO Xiaolei, was invited to attend the conference and awarded the Science and Innovation Zone of the Puxi World Expo Area the certificate of "WiiTs Life & Health Industry Partner". UNIDO ITPO Shanghai served as the guiding unit. The event was co-hosted by the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association and the Office of the Leading Group for the Construction of the Huangpu Central Science and Innovation Zone. The UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (Shanghai, China) attended the conference and awarded the Science and Innovation Zone of the Puxi World Expo Area the certificate of "WiiTs Life & Health Industry Partner".
At the conference, Lou Wei, President of the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association, delivered an opening speech. He stated that the "innovative collaboration" in the integration of medicine and engineering must reach the market and thousands of households. Only by possessing market-oriented capabilities and forming a closed loop of "technological R&D – clinical application – market profitability" can the transformation of scientific and technological achievements generate compound benefits, attracting more capital and scientists to contribute to human health causes. The Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association will continue to support the integrated innovative development of technology and industries.
Chen Yongliang, Executive Deputy Director of the Construction Office of Huangpu Central Science and Innovation Zone, pointed out in his speech that facing the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Huangpu adheres to the vision of "Science and Innovation Returning to Urban Areas". Relying on top-tier medical resources and national translational medicine facilities in the district, Huangpu is fully advancing the in-depth integration of "top-tier hospitals + cutting-edge technologies + professional services". Actively responding to the Shanghai Global Science and Technology Partnership Program, Huangpu is deepening strategic cooperation with UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, building a high-end platform for cross-border technology transfer and joint R&D, and advancing international cooperation in the medicine-engineering interdisciplinary field with a broader vision.
A number of important ceremonies were held during the event. UNIDO ITPO Shanghai officially awarded the "WiiTs Life & Health Industry Partner" certificate to the Science and Innovation Zone of the Puxi World Expo Area. The Medicine-Engineering Interdisciplinary Technology and Industrial Innovation Center under the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association officially settled in the zone, and the Life Renewal Harbor Smart Health Technology Industrial Cluster jointly built by both sides was officially launched.
Liu Rongyun, Vice President of the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association and Founder of Shengshengji, and Du Dong, Founding Director of the Medicine-Engineering Interdisciplinary Technology and Industrial Innovation Center of the Association, respectively presented achievement showcases and delivered keynote speeches.
In the closing roundtable forum, many distinguished guests from academia, healthcare, technology and other sectors engaged in in-depth discussions centered on the theme of "Medicine-Engineering Interdisciplinary Integration · Innovation & Collaboration", sharing their practical experience and insights.
