UNIDO supported to host the 2019 CIIE

During November 5-10 2019, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as one of the co-organizers of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), has actively participated in the various activities of the Expo. UNIDO organized the side meeting jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and set up a booth at the 5.2 National Pavilion, which received more than 100 governments, research institutions and enterprise delegations at home and abroad, cumulating over one thousand visitors. The meeting aims to share UNIDO's latest research findings with the public as well as set up an international open communication platform for inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

First Release of UNIDO Industrial Development Report 2020 to Interprete the

Opportunities and Challenges of Industrialization in the Digital Era

 

SHANGHAI, 6 November 2019 – On the sidelines of the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) launched its Industrial Development Report 2020 during a CIIE side event organized jointly with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), with participation of senior policy makers and representatives of academia and enterprise.

After the launch, UNIDO placed nearly 600 reports and overviews in Chinese and English versions of UNIDO Industrial Development Report 2020 on the exhibition stand, as well as more than 10 kinds of reports, such as UNIDO-China cooperation, Eco Industrial Park, UNIDO and Mercury, which received great response from the public.

UNIDO ITPO Shanghai Empowering YRD Cities to Participate in International Investment and Technology Cooperation

On the afternoon of November 6, "Release of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai Empowering Yangtze River Delta(YRD) Cities to Participate in International Investment and Technology Cooperation - and Launch of the Shortlist of Innovative Investment Competitiveness Evaluation of China's YRD cities and European Medical Capital(EMC) YRD Growth Fund” took place in the UNIDO booth,National Pavilion of the 2nd China International Import Expo(CIIE) in 2019.

Set Up the Platform for International Open Communication to Promote Bilateral Investments and Technology Cooperation

 

In order to promote the bilateral investment and technology cooperation in multiple fields, the Shanghai Investment Promotion Center of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (ITPO Shanghai) has played an active role in the spillover effect of the CIIE by setting up a platform for international open communication. During the six-day exhibition period, the UNIDO booth has received extensive attention from various delegations, such as governments, research institutions and enterprises. At the booth ITPO Shanghai has discussed about cooperation in a well-directed way, with many worldwide representatives. The booth received more than 100 governments, research institutions and enterprise delegations at home and abroad, cumulating over 1,000 visitors. Among them, overseas delegations include ministerial and bureau officials from Spain, Nepal, Angola, India, Latvia, Indonesia, Finland, Argentina, Norway, etc. Domestic delegations include representatives of government and enterprise from Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Henan Province, Hebei Province, Qinghai Province, Guangdong Province, Fujian Province, Liaoning Province, Jinan, Wuhan, Dalian, Chengdu, Changsha, Yantai, etc. More than 10 formal and informal cooperation talks were held.

 

For the goal of promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai will continue to maintain close communication at home and abroad, strengthening multilateral cooperation and empowering the competitiveness of international investment and technical cooperation.
