Director Bernardo attended the 2019 WAIC International Smart City Summit

Bernardo Calzadilla- Sarmiento, Director of UNIDO Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, was invited to the 2019 International Smart City Summit of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC). The purpose of this conference is to promote the sharing of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in various countries, build the world's top AI cooperation and exchange platform, and realize the exchange and sharing of the achievements of Shanghai and foreign smart city construction.

In the roundtable discussion, Mr. Bernardo said: "Now we are talking about smart products, smart factories, smart cities, then we need to be smart citizens ourselves. For the sustainable development of industry, we need to cooperate to build the new rules of the industrial 4.0 era. Participants in the round table discussion included Ms. XU Huili, Vice Diretor of Shanghai Pudong New District, Mr. Simon Marvin, Director of City College of the University of Sheffield, Mr. YANG Debin, founder and CEO of Shurui Science and Technology, and Mr. Harold Pradal, President of the British Standards Institution Global Business.

Before the opening ceremony, Mr. Bernardo was interviewed by China Business Network (CBN). He indicated that the focus of people's life at present is still work. But in the future, especially with the development of artificial intelligence, the focus of life will shift to the quality and creativity of life, as well as to realize personal value through self-creativity.
