The report states that Gender equality and empowerment for women are fundamental to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID). Gender divide in digital age is a negative effect deriving form development of market economy, and it is not easy to bridge the divide through market economy itself. Therefore, government needs to strengthen the top-level design, utilize the "visible hand", and develop practical policy tools to intervene and bridge the gender divide. At the same time, various new forms, new models and new economies arising from digital economy also contribute to facilitating gender equality process. The joint efforts of government, enterprises and society can provide feasible solutions to bridging gender divide.
