On the morning of September 8, the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, attended and announced the opening of the conference. Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Maja Gojkovic attended, Qatar Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry Sultan Hatir, Assistant Minister of Commerce Chen Chunjiang attended, and UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebecca Greens Pan, Brazilian Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services Geraldo Alcmin delivered a video speech. Ms. Fatou Haidara, Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), led the UNIDO ITPO delegation to Xiamen to attend the conference.

 

On September 8, 2023, the Invest in China Year · Smart Manufacturing Integration & Innovation Seminar hosted by the Department of Foreign Investment Administration Ministry of Commerce, P.R.C. and organized by the UNIDO ITPOs Network was successfully held in Xiamen. ZHAO Yang, Level-2 Inspector (DDG) of Foreign Investment Administration, Ministry of Commerce, P.R.C., delivered an opening speech. HUANG Feng, Chairman of Shanghai Association of Foreign Investment, and FUMIO Adachi, Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, and other honored guests attended the event.       

 

 

AN Xiaopeng, Director of Alibaba Cloud Technology Research Center, PENG Junsong, Chief Digital Officer & Vice President of SAP China, and SUN Hai, Vice President of Industrial Industry Research Institute, China Telecom Corporation Limited, attended the seminar and delivered "Smart Manufacturing lntegration & Innovation" keynote speech from the policy perspective, industrial perspective, technical perspective.

 

Director AN Xiaopeng pointed out that for the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, promoting the popularization of intelligent equipment is the general trend, and the integration of AI and physical machines will change the mode of the entire factory. The manufacturing industry will be the main battlefield for the application of AI large models.

 

Dr. PENG Junsong combined the practical experience of SAP to reveal the future development trend of Industry 4.0 and help manufacturing companies clarify the next stage of digital transformation strategy and direction.

 

SUN Hai, Vice President of Industrial Industry Research Institute, China Telecom Corporation Limited, gave a speech on "Consolidating the Industrial Digital Base and Building Core Basic Capabilities in the Digital Economy Era", emphasizing the importance of digital information infrastructure as a carrier of high-quality economic and social development.

 

In the roundtable discussion on "Cross-disciplinary Integration and Innovation Empowered by Digital Technology" hosted by ZHAO Xiaolei, Head of the UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, WAN Bing, Senior Vice President of Siemens China, and DHL CHEN Elaine, Vice President of Public Affairs (China), DHL Group, TANG Zhenyi, Vice President of SenseTime, and YU Ning, Director, China Integrated Solution Center, Johnson Controls, discussed how smart manufacturing integration and innovation can assist the development of future industries and how to maximize the use of digital technology to empower the entire industry.

 

This seminar has attracted 100 offline and 3.52 million representatives from international organizations and many countries, government agencies, executives of multinational companies, opinion leaders from leading digital economy companies, Fortune 500 companies in the global supply chain, and leading companies in digital base new infrastructure to express their views on industrial integration innovation and green manufacturing, innovative ideas for digital transformation, and expressed high affirmation and expectations for the future of high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing.
