Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fair, "Circle of Friends" Roadshow Launched Successfully

As time flies, UNIDO Day and China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) have walked hand in hand for 10 years. Since 2014, when UNIDO and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the annual co-organization of the United Nations Industrial Development Theme Day ("UNIDO Day" for short), CSITF and UNIDO Day have been playing the green music of jointly promoting the sustainable development of technological innovation for many consecutive years.

Together for ten years, UNIDO Day has become a highlight of the annual Shanghai Fair. As the organizer of UNIDO Day, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, with the development concept of "One Network, One Center, One Platform" and the goal of promoting technology trade, undertakes the mission of benefiting the international achievements to the country and promoting the advanced experiences and tools in the field of technology transfer of UNIDO, and builds a valuable platform for the exchange of domestic and foreign enterprises, and has been facilitating cooperation in the fields of investment and technology promotion, green energy and industry, inclusive and sustainable development.

This year, the 10th CSITF will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from 12 to 14 June, with the theme of "Greening the Future in the Age of Digital Chain". At the same time, UNIDO Day 2024 will also be held on June 13, with the theme of "Green Sti Stirs up New Quality Productive Force”, aiming to stimulate new productivity by encouraging broad cooperation between the public and private sectors to meet the major challenges of the new era, and exploring the convergence of innovation in the energy, manufacturing, product, financial and environmentally sustainable green supply chain to stimulate new productivity.

As a prelude to the 10th CSITF, the thematic promotion event for the 10th CSITF (special session for foreign economic and commercial institutions in Shanghai) and the launch ceremony of the "CSITF Circle of Friends" was successfully held on the afternoon of April 19 at the Shanghai Technology Exchange. The event was guided by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the People’s Government of Yangpu District, Shanghai, and hosted by the Shanghai International Technology Exchange Center, Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd., and the Shanghai Technology Exchange, with the International Trading Center of the Shanghai Technology Exchange serving as the organizer. The event received strong support from the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center and the CSITF Technology Trade Promotion Service Alliance. Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce Zhou Lan, Deputy District Mayor of Yangpu District Shi Fang, Deputy General Manager of Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd. Zhou Jin, and President of the Shanghai Technology Exchange Yan Mingfeng attended the event. More than 150 guests, including representatives from foreign economic and commercial institutions in Shanghai, technology and trade alliances, industry associations, technology innovation parks, and CSITF exhibitors, attended the event.

Zhou Lan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, pointed out in her speech that the 10th CSITF will focus on optimizing and enhancing the following aspects: firstly, strengthening the characteristics of technology trade and enhancing the level of exhibitions and displays; secondly, actively meeting supply and demand connections and providing precise services to participating enterprises; thirdly, enriching supporting activities to form a full-cycle technology trade promotion platform. CSITF will actively serve the important work of building Shanghai's "Five Centers" and create an important platform for promoting high-quality development in technology trade. The development of CSITF cannot be separated from the support and help of friends from all walks of life. Zhou expressed the hope that all parties would work together to further expand international cooperation, do a good job in promoting the exhibition and attracting investment for CSITF, and carry out collaborative promotion of technology trade.

Zhou Jin, Deputy General Manager of Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd., stated that the 10th CSITF will maintain relatively stable technology categories while further emphasizing technological expertise and service function orientation. Measures such as online registration and the establishment of virtual booths will enhance the digital transformation capabilities of the exhibition.

Yan Mingfeng, President of the Shanghai Technology Exchange, hoped to showcase the achievements of the Technology Exchange in intellectual property and scientific and technological achievements property transactions and the construction of an international technology trade hub through participation in CSITF, jointly promoting high-quality development in technology trade.

During the event, the launch ceremony for the "CSITF Circle of Friends" series of promotion roadshows was held. Zhou Lan, Shi Fang, Zhou Jin, and Yan Mingfeng jointly launched the promotion and technology trade development promotion activities of the "CSITF Circle of Friends." The series of activities will focus on foreign economic and commercial institutions and business associations in Shanghai, key and emerging industrial parks, and related key industries of CSITF to carry out promotions, serving as a prelude to the 10th CSITF, creating a favorable innovation ecosystem for technology trade.

The 10th CSITF actively serves national and Shanghai major strategies, gathering a number of leading projects and enterprises. Ten key enterprises and institutions, including Shanghai Yufeng Future Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Langjun Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jinghai Weixiang Biomaterials Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electronic Paper Industry Promotion Center, Shanghai Ruijian Future Medical Health Technology Co., Ltd., UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, the Hongqiao Development Zone Branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Shanghai Gelian Law Firm, Shanghai Henan Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Jiading District Science and Technology Innovation Service Federation, have conducted in-depth discussions with CSITF and signed intention agreements with Donghao Lansheng Exhibition Group Shanghai Foreign Economic and Trade Business Exhibition Co., Ltd.

At the same time, at this promotion event, many foreign economic and commercial institutions in Shanghai, including the Osaka International Economic Promotion Center Shanghai Representative Office (Osaka City Shanghai Office, Japan), Singapore Enterprise Center, the Investment Office of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Shanghai (Shanghai Office of the Thailand Board of Investment), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and the Yokohama Industrial Development Corporation Shanghai Representative Office (Japan), were invited to attend. These institutions promoted the investment environment of their respective countries (regions), communicated with CSITF exhibitors, and helped CSITF projects to "go global," better facilitating information exchange and resource sharing.

Over the past 10 years, CSITF has been one of the most influential international technology cooperation and exchange platforms in China.
