Building on the Past UNIDO ITPO Shanghai Honored with WAIC 2023 Special Contribution Award, First WAIC 2024 Partners

On March 7, the Shanghai World Expo Center hosted both the 2023 World Artificial Intelligence Conference summary session and the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference kickoff event. The gathering drew over 300 attendees, including distinguished figures such as Wang Zhijia, Chief of the Artificial Intelligence Development Department at the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, government officials from other departments, representatives from organizers like Donghao Lansheng Group and Shanghai Media Group, exhibitors, AI sector delegates, and media professionals.

During the summary session, it was revealed that WAIC 2023 successfully organized a total of 133 online and offline events, spanning an expansive exhibition area of over 50,000 square meters. As the conference concluded, offline attendance exceeded 177,000 individuals, while online engagement surged to unprecedented levels, with traffic surpassing 1.07 billion and exposure reaching 6.41 billion. The event's influence extended across more than 2,600 domestic and international networks and media outlets, marking a significant milestone in its impact.

Over the past six years, the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) has been continuously upgrading in scale, innovating in form, enriching in topics, and increasing in influence. In 2024, the conference will continue to gather and integrate cutting-edge ideas in the field of global AI, link the global science and technology innovation ecosystems, explore the new opportunities for the development of AI, continue to push forward the global digital governance and exchange and cooperation, and continue to push forward the results of the conference to the ground, and further release the effect of the conference on the Artificial Intelligence Industry

The conference also recognized outstanding contributors in 2023, presenting accolades such as the "WAIC 2023 Excellent Organization Award," "WAIC 2023 Pioneer Leadership Award," "WAIC 2023 Rising Star Award," "WAIC 2023 Audience Choice Award," and "WAIC 2023 Special Contribution Award." Among these, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai received the Special Contribution Award.
