EPD Organization International Mutual Recognition Signing and Industrial Green and Low Carbon Development Forum Successfully Held in Shanghai

In the afternoon of April 9, Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center (Shanghai Industrial Green Development Promotion Center) and Shanghai Green Wings Product Environmental Declaration Promotion Center (The EPD Promotion Center) jointly held the "EPD Organization International Mutual Recognition Signing and Industrial Green and Low Carbon Development" Innovation Forum, which attracted many enterprise representatives and industry experts to participate. The event attracted many enterprise representatives and industry experts to discuss and promote industrial green low-carbon development.

EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), as an internationally accepted environmental management tool, helps enterprises to reduce carbon emissions and enhance the environmental friendliness of their products, and is an important link in promoting green and low-carbon development, an important connotation in realizing new industrialization, and an important hand in connecting with the international community and participating in the global co-construction. Shanghai has the responsibility for the important mission of building the "Five Centers", and it is particularly important to carry out innovative work such as the international mutual recognition of EPD organizations, and the signing of the international mutual recognition of EPD organizations marks an important step in the international cooperation of EPD in Shanghai, and lays a foundation for Chinese enterprises to smoothly export their products to overseas.

At the event, The EPD Promotion Center was formally inaugurated and completed the mutual recognition signing ceremony with EPD Italy. It became the first domestic operation organization to achieve mutual recognition with international EPD organizations, and is also the only domestic EPD operation organization recognized by Eco Platform (an international EPD association organization). It helps domestic enterprises to shorten the cycle of mutual recognition with international organizations and get the "passport" to enter specific markets.

At the event, EPD Promotion Center and EPD Italy jointly released for the first time 3 Mutual Recognition Reports for Shanghai Siyuan Electrical Appliances, Jiangsu Zhengxin Photovoltaic, and Jiangsu BBL, which helped Yangtze River Delta enterprises export their products. Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center (Shanghai Industrial Green Development Promotion Center) and The EPD Promotion Center jointly released a new energy vehicles, power batteries, photovoltaic products and other 8 PCR standards. Bureau Veritas, DEKRA China, Titanium and certification (Shanghai) and other 8 audit organizations formally stationed in the EPD Promotion Center. All realized a breakthrough from 0 to 1 in the domestic related fields, and jointly build a "bridge" for China's green products to the international arena.

During the forum exchange session, Lorenzo Orsenigo, President of EPD Italy, shared the new requirements of EPD from an international perspective. Ms. Zhao Xiaolei, Head of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, provided an in-depth analysis of how to stimulate green innovation power in the light of the UN Index. Mr. Liu Chunyan, Professor of Law School of Tongji University, discussed the European Green New Deal package and its implications for Shanghai from a legal perspective. Mr. Gong Wanbin, CEO of Shanghai Ecovane 1mi1  Platform, shared his views on how to help Chinese enterprises to go overseas.
