Business Enabling Environment

UNIDO ITPO Shanghai actively contributes to the optimization of the business enabling environment in Shanghai by providing reliable international advice, and contributing to creating a legalized, international and convenient business enabling environment, combining UNIDO's international standards, tools and methodologies.

ITPO Shanghai seeks, through a combination of advisory and capacity building services, to strengthen national capacities for the creation and continuous improvement of a business environment. This allows the private sector to make a greater contribution to growth, employment and income generation. ITPO Shanghai also supports the creation and/or strengthening of the institutional infrastructure required for the formulation and implementation of SME and private sector development policies and strategies. Working with policy makers to identify constraints in the market environment and finding ways to address them, ITPO Shanghai strives towards enhancing of productivity and competitiveness within a market development perspective.

Our business enabling project has been proven successful in Minhang District, Shanghai. In 2018, during the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), ITPO Shanghai assisted Minhang District in publishing a report evaluating Minhang’s business enabling environment. The report demonstrates Minhang’s cutting edges in terms of inclusive and sustainable development, high maturity of investment, innovation and start-ups, and government service, comparing Minhang with international cases including Singapore, Frankfurt and the Silicon Valley. This informative report has provided the district with valuable reflections and references to further develop its economy wisely and effectively.
