10th CSITF UNIDO DAY 2024

On June 13, UNIDO Day 2024 at the 10th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF), jointly organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Finance Center for South-South Cooperation and the World Union of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (WUSME), was successfully held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. The whole-day event gathered more than 300 guests from enterprises, universities, associations and research institutes of more than ten countries and regions, including Germany, Canada, Spain, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Argentina, South Africa, Kenya, the Republic of Mali, San Marino, etc. to join in the grand event.

 

As an important international organization supporting CSITF, this year marks the 10th anniversary of UNIDO joining hands with CSITF to promote technological innovation for sustainable development. In line with the theme of "Digital Chain Era, Green Future", this event is themed with " Green Sti Stirs up New Quality Productive Forces ", through discussing the integration and innovation of green technology, green finance and the Green Silk Road, empowering sustainable development. At the meeting, HU Hao, Director of the Publicity Department, Member of the CPC SJTU Standing Committee, ZHAO Xiaolei, Head of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, and ZHANG Xiping, President of Shanghai Industrial Internet Association, jointly launched the 3rd Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions, which focuses on the collection of technological solutions in the field of carbon neutrality, and recommends Chinese outstanding projects to UNIDO Global Call 2024. MA Jun, Chairman, Green Finance Committee of China Society for Finance President, Institute of Finance and Sustainability Chairman, Hong Kong Green Finance Association (Moderator), delivered a keynote speech entitled "Green Finance and Green Technology". He called for building a framework for transformational finance and utilizing the four pillars of green finance, namely a clear system of standards, environmental information disclosure, a product system, and an incentive mechanism, to allow funds to support the transition of high carbon industries to low carbon, effectively channeling funds to green industries.

On the afternoon of June 14, the 10th CSITF came to a successful end, attracting nearly 50,000 professional visitors during the exhibition, with more than 12,000 attendees at the supporting activities of the exhibition, releasing 2,637 international and domestic innovation achievements and 572 enterprise innovation needs, and reaching 556 on-site cooperation projects, which is a record high. At the closing ceremony, ITPO Shanghai was awarded the "10th Anniversary Partner Award" by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

New Opportunities for International Cooperation on the Green Silk Road: Highlights of the Afternoon Session of UNIDO Day at the 10th CSITF

 

Under the background of deep integration and rebalancing of the global supply chain, transparency of supply and demand has become the key to enhance supply chain efficiency and promote trade facilitation. As a supporting activity of UNIDO Day 2024 at the 10th CSITF, the "Green Silk Road International Matchmaking Activity", jointly organized by UNIDO, Finance Center for South-South Cooperation and the World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME), was successfully held in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.
