From Emission to Solutions | UNIDO IDDI Enabling Global Green Competitiveness for Enterprises Project Evaluation Workshop for the 4th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solution

On September 29th, 2025, the "From Emission to Solutions | UNIDO IDDI Enabling Global Green Competitiveness for Enterprises Project Evaluation Workshop for the 4th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions," hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and organized by the UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, was successfully held at the Shanghai Pudong Service Center For Oversea Investment. More than 50 representatives from international organizations, government departments, scientific research institutions, financial investment, and technology enterprises attended the event, with 12 companies participating in the roadshow evaluations. After evaluation, three champion projects stood out.

The juries member included Zhou Yiping, Chief Expert of China Center for International Economic Exchange (Shanghai); Former Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation; United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for South-South Cooperation; Zhang Jun,Chief Economist of China Galaxy Securities, Dean of the Research Institute and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of China Galaxy International Securities Chairman of the Green Finance Committee of the Asia Financial Cooperation Association; Qin Hongbo, Deputy Director and Senior Engineer, Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center(Shanghai Industrial Green Development Promotion Center), Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Energy Standardization Technical Committee. Zhao Xiaolei, Head of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai, announced the evaluation results and, together with the judges, presented certificates to the winning enterprises.

The shortlisted technical solutions focused on three major fields: energy sector, Industrial Manufacturing, and Integrated Solutions. These solutions cover areas such as industrial waste heat recovery, new material substitution, carbon capture technologies, green power solutions for buildings, ports, and transportation, as well as energy system integration. They showcase technical approaches that combine an international perspective with Chinese expertise.

The evaluation meeting also arranged discussion and matchmaking sessions, combined with an exhibition, to promote in-depth exchanges among the technology solutions. The solution display area and the enterprise exchange and negotiation area outside the main venue were exceptionally active. The technology matchmaking between enterprises, capital matchmaking between enterprises and financial institutions, and investment matchmaking between enterprises and local governments facilitated by UNIDO ITPO Shanghai fully demonstrated the platform advantages of a UN agency. As Zhao Xiaolei, head of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai stated in her concluding remarks: "Helping Chinese enterprises go global, showcasing the strength of Chinese enterprises in the field of green technology on the international stage, and participating in international competition and cooperation is the original intention of our annual Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions. Today's meeting is just the beginning of our cooperation. We look forward to gathering more innovative forces to provide more Chinese solutions for deep industrial decarbonization, sustainable industrial development, and global climate governance."
