On October 22nd, 2025, the Orange Economy Inspies Tomorrow's Industries | Project Evaluation Workshop for 2025 UNIDO Global Call Project Docking in China, hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and organized by the UNIDO ITPO Shanghai , was successfully held at the Shanghai Pudong Service Center for Oversea Investment.

The 2025 UNIDO Global Call Project Docking in China had received over 50 submissions of leading local technological solutions, focusing on eco-friendly production, digital innovation, cultural heritage and trade, as well as University Student tracks. This evaluation workshop deeply concentrated on three core areas: processes, materials, and design. It featured four distinguished experts: Zhao Changying , Chair Professor and Director of Institute of Engineering Thermophysics School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Cai Junliang , Professor of Materials Science, Duke Kunshan University Co-Director of Environment Research Center (ERC), Duke Kunshan University; Zhang Xiangzhi , Deputy Secretary-General of Sustainable Development Working Committee, China International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology; and Zhang Shudong , President of Shang Capital Technology Fund. With 10 shortlisted enterprises and nearly 30 representatives, the whole workshop explored how to systematically integrate the concepts of circularity, regeneration, and inclusivity into the design and innovative technologies of industrial value chains, enabling the orange economy to play a greater role in advancing the SDGs achievements.
