The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized UN agency dedicated to promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development. As a global knowledge and technology transfer platform, its core mission is to foster partnerships and promote and mobilize investment in developing countries. The UNIDO Global Call is UNIDO's annual flagship event for promoting investment and technology cooperation, and has been awarded the UN Innovation Award. Since 2022, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai has organized four consecutive sessions of the "Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology and Solutions" under the UNIDO Global Call framework. These campaigns have collectively received hundreds of cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions, with 12 projects receiving UNIDO Global Call individual champion and nomination awards, and 9 projects invited to high-level international conferences such as the UN Climate Change Conference and the UNIDO General Conference. These numbers reflect the rise of China's green innovation strength and the global recognition of Chinese carbon-neutral solutions.

Standing at the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, in response to the national strategy of expanding high-standard opening-up, creating a new landscape of win-win cooperation, and promoting high-quality industrial development, and to support China's dual-carbon goals, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai will collaborate with major partners to meticulously prepare for the global event: "The 5th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology and Solutions and UNIDO Global Call 2026 Project Pipeline." Building on the successful experience of previous editions focusing on three tracks-Energy Carbon Neutrality, Industrial and Manufacturing Carbon Neutrality, and Integrated Carbon Neutrality Governance-this year's campaign will introduce two distinctive features. First, it will have a global reach, characterized by a "Five-Edition Solution Showcasing, Ten-City Global Matchmaking" approach.

Leveraging high-level international exhibition platforms, it will organize business delegations to visit overseas locations for business negotiations and project matchmaking with local governments and enterprises, facilitating solution demonstrations and promoting the realization of two-way investment. Second, it will focus on the blue economy, seeking the "blue ocean" in the green transformation of industries. According to UNIDO's latest report, the blue economy contributed 60% of global GDP in 2021, and its scale is expected to double over the next 20 years-a market opportunity that cannot be ignored.
Keynote presentations were delivered on behalf of partner hubs in Budapest, Singapore, Antalya, Dubai, Brussels, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Vienna respectively by: Mr. Yin Xiaoxiao, Asia-Pacific Director of the European Committee for the Promotion of Tourism Investment and Development (EUCPTID) and Accredited Representative to China of the Latvian National Tourism Investment Development Committee and the Investment and Development Agency of the Ministry of Economics of Latvia; Mr. Zhang Jun, Chief Economist of China Galaxy Securities, Head of CGS Research, and Deputy CEO of China Galaxy International; Ms. Yang Rongyong, Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Economic and Financial Issues of WUSME; Mr. Marc Tarrago Galceran, Executive Director of the AIM Congress ,and Ms. Eileen Jia, Chief Representative for Greater China of the AIM Congress(online); Mr. Wang Zhisheng, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) and Secretary General of the China Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum (online); Mr. Ding Xiufeng, Head of the Shanghai International Technology Exchange Center; Mr. Yao Chunyu, Deputy General Manager of DEXPO Shanghai Industry and Commerce Exhibition Co., Ltd.; and Ms. Rita Wang, Investment and Technology Promotion Officer of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai.
