Sharing The Blue: From Local Pier To Global Frontier | "5th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions & UNIDO Global Call 2026 Project Docking in China" was officially launched in Hongkong

On January 28th, at the grand scene of the Impact Investment International Forum 2026 held in Hong Kong, the "5th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions & UNIDO Global Call 2026 Project Docking in China" was officially launched by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of Mr. Laiwu ZHANG, Chief Economist of the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Zhong WU, Director-General of the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation; Mr. Ji ZOU, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Energy Foundation China; Mr. Jun ZHANG, Chief Economist of China Galaxy Securities and Dean of the Galaxy Research Institute; and Ms. Xiaolei ZHAO, Head of UNIDO ITPO Shanghai.
Against the backdrop of UNIDO's Industrial Deep Decarbonization Initiative (IDDI), UNIDO ITPO Shanghai has systematically integrated climate action into industrial policy, technological innovation, and investment promotion, leveraging the initiative as a key tool and positioning industry and manufacturing as crucial breakthroughs for achieving global climate goals. Simultaneously, it synergizes with the flagship UNIDO Global Call program which awarded the UN Innovation Award to form a two-way collaborative mechanism of "China Call — Global Matching." Each campaign selects ten top carbon-neutral technologies for global promotion and application, ensuring technological inclusivity and leaving no one behind.
The 5th Campaign of Carbon-Neutral Technology & Solutions & UNIDO Global Call 2026 Project Docking in China focuses on the blue economy. Under the annual vision "Sharing The Blue: From Local Pier To Global Frontier", it actively responds to the global theme of "Blue Economy" proposed by Rome, Italy for UNIDO Global Call 2026, marking the campaign's entry into a new phase of comprehensive globalization. The call targets domestic and international large enterprise groups, as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, concentrating on three core tracks: Energy Carbon Neutrality, Industrial and Manufacturing Carbon Neutrality, and Comprehensive Carbon Neutrality Governance. It further includes eight subdivided fields such as blue renewable energy, ocean thermal energy conversion, and marine biofuels, aiming to systematically promote the deep integration of the marine economy with green decarbonization.

As a core highlight of this year's campaign, UNIDO ITPO Shanghai has planned a year-round "Ten-City Global Tour." This initiative will bring China's outstanding carbon-neutral solutions to a series of globally influential industry forums, investment conferences, and professional exhibitions, building a sustainable cooperation ecosystem that transcends geographical boundaries.

Hong Kong, as the first stop of this global tour, is not only an international hub for finance, trade, and technology innovation but also a vital bridge connecting the Chinese mainland with global green capital, technology, and markets. Choosing Hong Kong as the inaugural stop aims to leverage its highly internationalized professional service system and resource aggregation capacity to efficiently connect with international impact investment. It provides a premier global showcase for China's innovative carbon-neutral technologies and lays a solid foundation for subsequent global roadshows and industrial cooperation. This carbon-neutral campaign serves as a crucial platform for UNIDO ITPO Shanghai to promote global green technology cooperation. It aims to support China's "Dual Carbon" goals and global climate governance through systematic technology screening and international resource matching, translating the vision of carbon neutrality into tangible industrial outcomes and collectively advancing towards a sustainable future.
